To help you get to your most used pages quickly, our new favourites system has been implemented. On every page there is a box for 'Your Favourites', these are for pages you have selected as a favourite page. Just click the 'add to favourites' link at the bottom of every page, and that page will be added to your favourites list, you can store up to 5 net-weather pages on there.
Forecasts
The net-weather forecast system has had an overhaul, both in terms of visual design and also in how it works. Still using GFS data as a base, the new system uses interpolation in order to improve the resolution and therefore local accuracy of the forecasts. Our new system has a resolution of 0.25 degrees (or 12km) meaning it is most probably the highest resolution forecast system available anywhere in the UK.
Alerts
The new alerts system uses 'traffic lights' at the top of every page, using these will be able to see at a glance whether or not your region is expected to have any severe weather. By clicking the button for your region, you will be able to read any alert or watch that is issued.

You may also notice that the homepage is quite different to the old design, it's designed to enable you to view the weather information you want to view. You can customise it to display upto 4 current conditions reports of your choice (selected from a list of stations which cover the whole UK), plus you can display a 'quickcast' for any location in the UK.
Extra integration
For those of you who use Net-weather extra you will find that the extra part of the site is far more integrated with the site as a whole, so switching between the free and extra pages is now very much easier.

The datacentre has also been expanded to include more of our own GFS charts, all of which use the 0.5 degree dataset. We have also included charts from the UK Metoffice and also the ECMWF. The new design of the datacentre also makes it far simpler for you to find the information that you need.
Winter
The net-weather winter area has been added to the site, including the winter forecast (released 14/11 at 6pm), white Christmas forecast (released at the same time as the winter forecast), winter history and famous winter areas. Also coming soon will be an in depth look at another famous winter, 1987.
This is very much evolution 1 of the new net-weather site, this week we will be implementing RSS feeds, and then ongoing we have a series of new features to be added. One of the bonuses of the new design is the lack of clutter, which will enable us to add new features more easily and regularly. As with any new product, there may be some teething problems and bugs, if you see something that you don't think is quite right, please let us know via our contact page. Keep returning to this page for the latest updates and news of new features.
