The skew-t diagram is one of the key tools that many forecasters use to predict storm activity and many other weather phenomena. Until recently these diagrams could only be created by launching a balloon with a variety of instruments into the atmosphere. This of course only shows what the atmosphere is like at that stage, now using the 0.5 degree GFS technology we can show you forecast skew-t's (soundings) out to 84 hours ahead. We are making a small number of these available in the datacentre, but you can view forecast soundings for every town and postcode in the UK within Netweather Extra.
