Keeping an eye on Summer Holiday rain

Netweather Radar apps! A way to see where the rain is, which way it's moving over the UK and keep an eye on any summer thunderstorms too.

The Netweather Radar App gives a snapshot of the rain across the UK. These images are recorded every 5 minutes and can be played in a sequence to show how the rain has moved. So, it is what has happened rather than a forecast, but gives an idea of where the rain/showers/thunderstorms will move next; to ruin your picnic, BBQ or game of golf, or that the rain is far away from your location to continue happily with your outdoor plans.

It's great to be able to let you know that we have just released a couple of new Radar apps for Android devices.

You may already have Netweather Storm app on your phone or iPad, or just use the Radar from our website. The Android version is out but if you have an iPhone, it's coming soon.

First question - Are you a Netweather Extra Subscriber already (where you get the forecast charts) or are you just interested in the Free version for now?

  • for Netweather Extra subscribers, the Radar Extra app comes as a free add-on to your subscription, just grab it from the Google Play Store, and log in using your existing username and password. The app has all of the features from Radar Extra, with that little bit more speed and convenience for accessing when you're on your mobile or tablet, it also has additions such as rain, lightning and snow alerts.  Download the Radar Extra App here.

You can turn Lightning ON and see the small coloured crosses of lightning strikes over time, on thunderstorm days. Example below from Tues 18th July 2017, before the Cornwall flooding at Coverack

iOS users - iPhone iPads etc

The iOS apps will be released soon, we're currently looking for people to help us to test the beta versions of them. If you're interested in helping out, and getting early access, please contact us and we'll send you an invite!
