It's all about high pressure this, as the UK will enjoy a period of fine, settled and mainly dry weather though a chilly breeze off the North Sea will keep things feeling cooler, especially for eastern/south eastern areas for the next few days.

After a week where, as Michael says, we've seen temperatures of 25c at one end of the country while it was snowing on the hills at the other end, it's now going to settle down as high pressure sits over or just to the west of the UK. The position of the high means we'll be drawing a chilly wind in off the North sea, making it feel quite fresh at times, even in the brighter spells, and there will be a good amount of sunshine, best in the west as some cloud wil blow in over eastern areas.
Overnight temperatures will drop off quite quickly under clear skies, so there is a chance of a patchy frost, and with the breeze it will feel cold if you are out and about, so make sure you have a coat.

Temperature wise, we are well down from the highs now, and northern areas are a little milder, so closer to normal for mid April, it will turn a little warmer for many areas from Tuesday as the north easterly wind fades away, and the south of the UK could see temperatures climb a little higher again to end the week.
