Sunshine and heat for the end of June outdoor concerts and Glastonbury

As the heat builds again, Glastonbury will be hotting up. Sunny and hot for BST Hyde Park and fine for the Lana Del Ray concerts. There is rain for Friday in the north.

Issued: 26th June 2025 14:02

The heat will build through the end of this week, with Monday 30th looking very hot. Taking to the stage over the next few days will be Olivia Rodrigo, Lana Del Ray and Zac Bryan as well as Glastonbury really getting going. The forecasts are coming up.  Parts of England will return to heatwave conditions at the weekend, and if you are heading out for the day; do take water, slap on the sunscreen and take a hat. There is some rain in the forecast, particularly for Northern Ireland and Scotland but overall there will be a lot of fair, bright weather and for some, stunning sunshine.

High pressure will keep much of England and inland Wales fine and dry and hot but low pressures will continue to run in from the Atlantic. These will bring windy weather, more cloud and rain, particularly for western Scotland and Cumbria.

Glastonbury has seen a bit of rain and more cloud but nothing much to worry about. In the sunshine, it will feel very warm , out of the brisk westerly wind. The wind is easing down on Thursday and it will feel cooler this evening, then things heat up.  Late on Thursday evening and overnight, there could be some rain as the Atlantic weather system moves by.

Friday and the weekend -temperatures will move into the mid 20sC, again feeling hottest in bright sunshine, although at times there will be some cloud cover. It does look dry for the rest of the festival by day. There is a chance that there will be a bit of rain during Friday night but that may be a good thing as the nights look warm and sultry. It will feel muggy sleeping in a tent.

Lana Del Ray takes to the stage tonight at Hampden Park in Glasgow. For Scotland, the air temperatures aren’t so high in the west with a brisk flow off the Atlantic. However, in any sunshine, it feels very warm. There is a small chance of a shower for those queuing early but the weather looks fine for the evening concert. It might feel quite cool afterwards.

Olivia Rodrigo is the headliner at BST Hyde Park in London on Friday 27th. There will be a bit of a breeze stirring the air at least, after the recent heat. Temperatures in London will peak around 26C and it will stay very warm and close into the evening. The forecast is dry.

The heat will be building this weekend as Zac Bryan plays Saturday night and Sunday night. Temperatures in London should reach 28C by day, maybe rising to 30C so again it will be a very warm and muggy evening at Hyde Park.

And again for Lana Del Ray on Sunday 28th at Anfield, Liverpool. It will be a warm, fine day with temperatures up 24C but feeling warmer out of the breeze and especially in the sunshine. It will feel quite close as well.

Monday is looking hot across the UK, with the outside range of model maximum temperatures mentioning 35 even 36C. The highest June temperature on record is 35.6C from 1976 in Southampton. As Scotland and Northern Ireland’s school summer holidays get underway, temperatures here should be 19 to 25C, warmest for SE/E Scotland.
