The weather is set to be mostly warm, dry and sunny for the foreseeable future, with just a brief interruption for some parts of the UK through Sunday and Monday as weak fronts come into the west and a pool of colder air moves into eastern Britain.

Today looks set to be warm, sunny and dry almost everywhere. The main exception will be in Cornwall and Devon, where it is forecast to increasingly cloud over from the south during the day, but even here, for most of the region, the morning will be mostly sunny. It will be quite breezy, especially near east and south-facing coasts and Northern Ireland.

Temperatures will reach 14 to 16C in many inland parts of England this afternoon, locally touching 17 or 18C, making it feel particularly warm for the time of year, especially out of the breeze. Some parts of Scotland and Wales to the north of high ground will be similarly warm due to the föhn effect and south to south-easterly winds. It will be cooler near south and east-facing coasts and in other parts of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but almost all parts of the UK will reach at least 12C.

Skies will tend to cloud over in Northern Ireland and south-west England overnight, and also near North Sea coasts and in East Anglia, resulting in a mild night, but elsewhere there will be a slight frost with temperatures falling to between 0 and 3C.

Sunday will be a cloudier day for Northern Ireland and south-west England. There will be some showery rain over Cornwall, which will spread northwards up the Irish Sea and into Northern Ireland during the evening. Cloudier weather will also spread westwards through eastern England, especially East Anglia, with some showers arriving mainly in East Anglia during the evening. However, for the rest of the UK, it will be another sunny day. Temperatures will generally be a little lower, reaching 12 to 14C in most regions, but getting no higher than around 10C in parts of Northern Ireland and the south-west of England.

High pressure is set to re-establish in all areas during next week, and the winds will ease and become predominantly southerly. With some cooler air having moved in from the east, Monday will be a bit cooler in many parts of the UK, though highs of 14 to 16C are still likely in the south-east, and there will be variable amounts of cloud. The weather is set to turn warmer and sunnier again from Tuesday, with temperatures widely reaching between 14 and 18C by day.
