Snowy Alps And More To Come

Snow has arrived to the Alps during the last few days, and there's more on the way..

It's been a up and down start to the season for many parts of the Alps, after a great early start with plenty of snow during late November the snow slowed right down into December with many resorts seeing little or no snow for as much as 3 weeks. Christmas and Boxing day delivered a change to that pattern though with some sizeable falls across much of the Alps, and there's more on the way too.

Some parts of Italian and Swiss alps have seen huge snowfall during the last few days, with Bielmonte in Italy having seen 160cm's, and Rosswald in Switzerland 110cm's. These sorts of falls in such a short space of time are pretty rare, and there's even talk of records falling..

Over the next few days and into the new year, the good news keeps coming too, with further snow expected at quite frequent intervals, great news for those enjoying New Year on the slopes, and equally good news for the season ahead - with a good early base finally being built on.

Latest weather forecasts and snow reports for resorts across the Alps and worldwide.
