How come it can snow in early April, when temperatures are above freezing?

A look why it can snow in early April at temperatures several degrees above freezing. Clue: to do with how dry a cold arctic airmass can be this time of year.

It was snowing here at over 5c today. Dew point was -5c though, so very dry and cold aloft
