UK weather: A Wintry start for final week in January. Milder by payday

Ice warnings to start the working week in the north and the risk of snow, for some, overnight. It's chilly, it's January but a new month this weekend, and it looks much milder.

[A Face like Thunder]

Barometer has dropped (v slowly) below 1000 for the first time in over a week. Still dry here in South Cheshire but wintery weather forecast although I suspect the yellow weather warning for snow and ice overnight in Cheshire will only apply to the upland parts of the county going towards Buxton. However I will reserve judgement on that until after I have opened the bedroom curtains tomorrow morning!
