Warm and humid air will pulse across the Channel again later this week but a low pressure off Scotland will turn the airflow to a northerly by next weekend as Spain and France swelter.

I’m just south of carcassone in the yellow warning area. Hit 40c today (my first ever), moderated by a breeze and access to a pool. The main issue here is the relentless- there’s not really any relief, just constantly hot day and night.
 

plus, Quite a lot of the shops and bars have just shut down.

32.5c at 10:30 this morning - looks like the peak of the heat. Storms over Pyrenees the last couple of evenings haven’t migrated from the mountains but today feels “chargee”

Currently 41c in ville dieu du Temple near Montauban where we stayed in winter… might breach 43-44c this afternoon and tomorrow

Silly temperatures that. Still just below 40c here, patchy clouds, already convection over the mountains

Exceptional flooding with a red warning in the far north of France. 

This area suffered in Storm Ciaran and has seen plenty of rainfall since.

Meteo France has named  LOUIS  for wind and rain, flood risk again in the north/NE area which has been so badly affected  in recent months.
