Bank Holiday weekend weather - At a glance

It's not been the best week and with a long weekend coming up, you maybe hoping for a weather turn around.

It looks like the weather will throw one more wintry spell over the UK, espeacilly northern Britain on Friday. There could even be some disruption from snow for Scotland. Southern Britain and N.Ireland look to be drier and brighter but with blustery cool winds.

Saturday is more settled with more sunshine. There will still be a scattering of showers, moreso for eastern Britain, but remember the sun is strong now so sunscreen is needed.

Sunday sees a spell of wet and blustery weather as a band of rain moves quite quickly across the UK. Behind this will be brighter skies.

Monday brings brisk westerlies winds and a mixture of rain/showers and sunny spells. Feeling a bit warmer out of the wind.

If you've got an extra day off, enjoy it whatever the weather.
