A great late evening sky for NLCs, if only they were around, i'm occasionally peeking out the window to spot anything but nothing seen as of yet. 3am is my cut-off time but the camera and car is ready to make a quick dash into the hills at any time tonight.

YEP!

Started after 11, south of the point the sun set, so more Westerly than north... appeared as a ghostly grey glow, faint, camera brought them up beautifully... well as good as faint ones can get!

Daisy looks good for tomorrow!

Heres my view, it matches what others saw too.... so whilst i thought for me it might have been a contrail, i was wrong

Cheers @Arnie Pie , im tryng to get to grips with the camers "pro" settings, night mode is well and good but i want to see what manual setting might achieve. the F is fixed at 1.8, but i can play with the iso and shutter speed... its getting their balance right that will make all the difference... ive looked online, but nowhere specialises in NLC s lol.. i think settings for NLCs will be a tad different?

I cant offer any advice Rob. I don't own a phone, but they seem to be advancing in quality every year

I shoot with an old Canon 40D which vitally, I can attach a light pollution filter to ( imby )

This offers me a few more options

I`m sure some of the less older members will be able to point you in the right direction for your question

Pretty clear down here, except a line of fairly chunky CU in the Northern sky that's evident on the Sat from Dorset up to EA. Hopefully it melts away now it's losing the daytime heating!

The other issue may be more fluffy low cloud like last night - various patches have been coming in through today, but hopefully it's all gone now.

Looks like the cumulus clouds to your north are starting to melt away

I've got a nice view to my north, and a time lapse on the go, just in case anything shows up

Good luck if you're heading out
