Nice morning, washing out and what do I see on the radar?

A line of showers that might spoil my drying endeavours.

A better day than yesterday so far. Sunny spells and milder than expected we are sitting at 13 degrees. Chance of a shower or two later.

Forecasting where snow will fall later tonight and through tomorrow very tricky. A nowcast. Much will depend on the intensity of precipitation as always the heavier the greater chancs of it falling to low levels thanks to evaporative cooling.

The models are no help in these situations. The frontal feature is set to intensify as it develops a wave but it may equally lose all coherence and precipitation ends up being patch and light with snow reserved for high ground only.

A complex set up. Tomorrow set to get a raw rather drab bleak day overall with temps pegged well down into the 3-5 degree range.

Sunny first thing, clouded over… sun made brief appearance again but clouded over whilst in Hyde and drizzle on way back to Glossop… 10c down from 16c yesterday…  May get a little frost and wake up to white hills over the next few days… really need some rain ☔️

Yes, been bright and pleasant here this morning, this has now given way to substantial grey cloud.  Max I think was 13°, now 12°.  I wonder if Macc is out east enough to have a decent taste of the threatened snow, or will it be a sleet fest and cold rain?  Warm coat, gloves back out and a fair bit of radar watching coming up.

Made use of the nice weather and got the front garden done, rain has arrived now so time to chill and wait for my girlfriend to go into labour (only 4 days overdue)

Looking at the coherence of the front to our NE currently giving quite patchy rain in east Scotland I'm not expecting much out of it from either a rain or snow point of view unless we see it stall pivot and develop a wave in situ overhead with the cold air allowed to undercut more meaningfully. Such a scenario is forecast to develop much further south in the late hours of Wednesday, timing therefore not good for our region.

Some light wet snow for the fells probably. More snow interest is on Thursday from unstable convective NE flow could see some very beefy wintry showers make there way easily across from N Sea. It is still March!

A sunny morning today and warm again around lunchtime, but clouded during this afternoon and we had a sharp shower a couple of hours ago from a line of showers that intensified as they moved South. A high of 15.3C early this afternoon. We won't see these types of temperatures again for a few days at least.

No rain Since St Patrick’s day and then wow.

just had a torrential shower of large hail. Some of the biggest hailstones I’ve ever seen. Amazed it didn’t electrify. That was unexpected. Wow.

Timing tonight in regards to snow could be an issue, the real cold air doesn't get to us until afternoon tomorrow so maybe the highest ground could see a cover in the morning but below 400m I doubt there will be anything other than cold rain. Thursday looks interesting though with snow showers moving in from the North Sea. The upper air by that stage will certainly be cold enough.

Cold has arrived, fells have a light cover of snow to about 500m. Ground is wet, heaviest precipitation further east. Currently dry temp 5.3 degrees. Not expecting much in the way of snow low levels until later this evening in the form of showers.

Grim out there compared to the last week or so. Temp hovering between 1.5 and 2c. Ice pellets and sleet. Today it feels like 0c whereas last week it felt like 25c plus in the sun. The variability of spring.
