Was it Mike Poole who touted a sudden switch from basically late winter to summer at some stage?

If so it’s most definitely happened!

From struggling with mid teen maximums only last week to 22c+ by 10am yesterday and today!

Yes it seems to happen a lot these days, you rarely get a gradual buildup of warmth like you used to, just goes from one extreme to the other whithin a few days.

Was surprised by the average rainfall at under 600. That’s very low. Dublin has 760mm, but July average max of 20, with May 15c. North Dublin oddly similar average rainfall to yours, very dry. Great market garden area, average max never falls below 8 in Dublin, but still colder than the west and south. You Geordies are a hardy bunch. Respect.

I'm surprised Dublin is that dry as well. Ireland and NI has a reputation for rain. Where I am is much rainier, with over 1000 mm a year. My temps are very similar to yours in Dublin, but with colder winters (average daytime high of around 6°C). It is very dry over on the east coast, barely ever rains, definitely not the case here in Lancashire!

Geordies certainly are hardy folk, the amount of people wearing shorts when it was cold and foggy! 😮😆 In contrast to here where I think a lot of folk are a bit soft and wear coats when it's still fairly mild outside.

After being 23c earlier it’s turned into a miserable afternoon, moderate rain and back down to 16c. Rank!

Nowhere near that sort of drop inland. From 24.2c at midday, half an hour of rain which has already dried out and feeling quite humid now under cloud and 21.3c .

A mass of low cloud forming over the channel and north west France! That’s tomorrow ruined.

How about moving to the correct thread to discuss it then?

This thread should probably be locked now, seeing as spring is over.
