Meh we'll take it! Saves me watering the damn bushes we put in a couple of weekend back! Been watering daily and yet their new leaf growth is all dying! Hoping this is just transplant shock and it won't kill the rest of the bush! They not lookin' so happy :-s

Maybe time to use the "F" word....

Well, the UKV was crap at predicting this rain, even at 6 hours out.

Latest:

For the last 2 - 3 days it was showing that much further East, and consistently.  Fail.

They'll be fine. Just keep them well watered.

Cracking evening. best part of the day

Yes, you are doing well out to the west!

Relentless rain here. Doesn't look like it's going to clear any time soon from the South Hams...

From the local rag...

A DORSET based forecaster has issued an orange weather warning ahead of heavy rainfall expected later today.

The forecaster Dorset Sun has issued its own orange weather warning due to heavy rain which we can expect to see over the next 24-hours.

However, the Met Office has not issued any weather warning ahead of the expected downpour.

Dorset Sun said: "A deepening area of low pressure is expected to move in from the south on Wednesday afternoon and could see up to 30mm fall quite widely across the yellow shaded area.

OK own up  who goes under the alias of Dorset Sun?

I think Dorset Sun needs to submit his forecasts to a different county newspaper, as the “up to 30mm” certainly didn’t happen here, but further west looks to have and are still under some heavy rainfall...AND a Met Office warning exists today for the area under the deluge..I think this one has upset a few predicted forecasts as it has wobbled and tracked with a mind of its own!

I posted on Monday that a real soaking looked possible for somewhere in our region. It seems some parts of Devon have had 70-90mm and it’s still raining.

14mm in Warminster, hardly anything not far East from here.

Yep! Still raining in Kingsbridge, been raining since midday yesterday. I don't have access to 24 hour radar but seems it didn't stop overnight either!

Can well imagine some of the local higher ground areas will have had even more rain.

Choppy seas and dark skies seem the order of the morning here..

Some early morning rain with 2.8mm since midnight, and an overnight low of 7.3°C at: 05:25, currently 8.3°C and the breeze in from the East...

I noticed ECM didn't do well even yesterday morning either, interestingly the GFS seemed to do better, been indicating slow moving heavy rain over me for a couple of days.

50.8mm of rain here since mid afternoon yesterday according to the Davis, and rising. 25.4mm before midnight, 25.4mm afterwards!
Pretty much 21 hours of continuous rain. Eased off to light/very light rain at times this morning but it's moderate again now as another band has swung in from the NE.

After a very temporary easing this morning it is pouring down again as the front pivots right over my location. I'm not home to see what my station says but we must be approaching 50mm now over the last 24hrs. And no warning! Mind you, channel lows are notoriously hard to predict.

26.1mm in the 24 hours to 09.00, only a few spits and spots since as the current arc of heavier rain is to the NW of us.

I was thinking it must have been 40mm in the last 24 hours, but 50mm doesn’t surprise me... it hasn’t stopped!

Was just about to say it’s started easing but it definitely hasn’t, starting coming down again now.

slow moving rain belts are the worst.

just animated the rain radar, e/w sideways ribbon/trough boredom playing out in extra slow time.
