Well it's looking good out there today, the sea is calm, the sun is out,...the temperatures in the northerly light breeze are struggling but right now it's 11.7°C...

Partly cloudy here now but quite sunny. Earlier it looked quite unstable with a fair amount of Cu but no showers. The midday sounding illustrates this and also the sensitivity of modern radiosonds vis the patchy Cirrus

With the up and coming weekend, I suspect more of this empty view could well be the order of the day...

Having peaked at 12.6°C at: 11:39 , with the sea temperature of 10.1°C slightly below the mean temperature for this time of year..

Pretty much on a convergence zone in Warminster aided by Salisbury Plain. Have watched a few lively/lovely cells pop up in the last hour. No rain (possible hail today?) overhead but some downpours nearby.

This beauty with its pileus cap is just on the A350/A303 junctions according to the radar.

It’s a yes re hail! Sudden deluge of hailstones and heavy rain. From nothing overhead to this within 5 minutes! The red echo is pretty much over my road!

Is that not typical as the month ends so it  rains!

A meagre 0.6.mm of rainfall to top the month off at 5.4 mm...

@Mapantz you got lucky then!

Incredibly, missed all showers today despite seeing many responsible clouds very close by. Clearing up for another autumnal night.

Morning everyone, long time, no speak....

It's been relentlessly frosty around these parts but yesterday surpassed even that. Thought you might be interested to hear it snowed in the Mendips yesterday afternoon, not just a few flakes floating around but proper, laying snow in Priddy. Bonkers.

It has been a cold end of April and snow has fallen on the hills around Wells today (April 30).

April bought us only 1.2mm of rain that fell on April 13th.
So since mid March that is the only rain meter recorded rain we have had.

A low of 3c at 5:30am
Nice sunny start today, currently 12.4c.

Didn’t see it fall, but nearly an hour after a hailstorm yesterday this was left in the garden I’m working in... arrived in Stroud a few minutes after it had finished, Waitrose car park had an inch of slush all over it, and that side of town all the houses were white, and some cars had 2 inches of hail on the top! Shame I missed the fall, but nice to see the aftermath.

Morning All, after another frosty night with a low of -1.7°C at: 04:42, currently 9.1°C. A nice convergence zone setup to my south as the wind direction shows, with the showers along the zone line

Capture.thumb.JPG.e0e5188a500730acd2e51e004aa5bf83.JPG

The beachcam shot shows nicely where the showers are

Capture11.thumb.JPG.494fd94f47680cd5aaf773ab18115646.JPG

@Mapantz's webcam also shows the convergence zone nicely today as it looks to that direction
