Nice bit of rain ? overnight giving 5.7mm.

Bridgewater area looks like they are getting a soaking at the moment,  maybe some hail as well?

12.4mm rain to 09.00GMT, first significant rain since this time last month and first day over 10mm since mid February.  Bang goes the driest April in my record!

Amazing we've had some rain..all 0.2mm of it! With the cloud overnight keeping temperatures up the low of 5.3°C at: 06:33, has made it up to 11.3°C

The view towards Lyme Bay suggests thicker cloud confirmed by the radar showing an encroaching band of rain as the low sinks into the channel,

with the centre currently in Lyme bay..

Still dry here, but it might rain, possibly, maybe, could do...

Cold and dull. 11.7°C

Looks like little to no rain here now, after a promising forecast.

Currently a steady, but not overly heavy, spell of rain. At least I wont have to water the plants I guess.

And to be honest having dropped another strike it doesn't look ominous ...

No measurable rain from it for us though, still at 0.2mm from just after midnight..

Fairly tight spread for the reported strikes this afternoon..

Hi rare post, but browser of thread..

Before today only 3.4mm of rain recorded this April, now had 16mm so far today (13mm last night). Very welcome rain though!

Pity about the temp though, a dismal high of 8.4C with the damp NE wind. Moderate rain currently, slate grey sky

Asking for a friend what's the likelihood of a air frost in the SO20 6RE area tonight? Thanks

It kinda depends how quick this low moves it butt to clear the area, once it does the cooler air from oop north looks to do the backfill.

The NW temperature chart for 02:00 tomorrow suggests the chance looks good, but, the cloud certainly will need to shift..

I just heard 3 close rumbles from that, as it skimmed over Swanage.

Just heard a faint rumble from those strikes off the coast near Bournemouth. A few spots of rain here today but that's it so far. 9.2°C

Didn't see it spark up, but typically just got home and Matt confirms that it has.

Missed again, whilst folks a mile away have noted heavy rainfall and hail, meanwhile here it's bone dry,..

We got to 11 before the rain came in then dropped off quite a bit. Down to 7/8 too. Made for a brrr school run home with the rain and wind!

We finished the days rainfall count as we started a mere 0.2mm of rain. My son who lives just over a mile away couldn’t understand why I was saying we’d had no rain as he had heavy rain and hail at his place...the wonder of the weather.

So April is drawing to a close and unless something changes real quick , it’s going to be a very dry one for the record..with a mere 4.8mm or (0.19” in old money! ) for the whole month..

Meanwhile, the clear skies have allowed the temperatures to drop, currently  1.2°C at: 04:17, likely to go lower yet..
