Surely some places in the SW must be under loads of water now? Some areas have been under red radar echoes for 1-2 hours!

We are literally about 10 miles too far north here. After this morning's rain cleared it has been a dry day. Rather cloudy now but places like Chard to the south must have has some very high rainfall totals with storm after storm.

Ian Fergusson said on his Points West forecast that parts of Chard were flooded. Someone put on Twitter about 62mm in 2 and a half hours. Radar accumulation suggests well over 100mm in 4 or 5 hours!

In contrast Just a moderate shower here near Sidmouth adding 0.6mm to the daily total.

This persistent gloom is becoming more irritating than expected. Needing lights on indoors in the mornings and evenings in midsummer is only helping the utility companies!

Only Saturday evening this past weekend has been clear recently.

After some useful rain last night and early this morning having totalled 19.4 mm since midnight, this morning starts overcast and light drizzle and 13.2°C, the satellite shot shows a lot of cloud over us as the low spins merrily down in central/western France

Why can't the French send us something nicer than sodding cloud!! ARGH!!!! It's unrelenting!

I though Brexit would prevent these unwanted imports!

I want the promised "sunlit uplands".

Astronomers have found a large object entering our solar system – it could be an unusually large comet or even a minor planet, and it will get nearly as close to the sun as Saturn by 2031

The storms stayed resolutely to the south of us yesterday.  One ordinary rumble about 15.15 and an absolute cracker at 18.00.  Rainfall total......0.4mm.

Another 'meh' sort of day. Much higher cloud today so occasional brightness allowing brief peaks in temperature and feeling warmer, but generally very disappointing.

Trolling weather at its best. Sky clearing at sunset! Not even seen it today!

Dare I hope for some sunny spells tomorrow!? And to maybe get washing dry in less than 12 hours!? What a heinous few hopes for midsummer!!
