Looking at the wind direction charts and there is a little window of opportunity tonight for those further west.

Wind due to become more easterly, which will see a few showers develop in the Channel and move towards southern Devon coasts for example.

Met warning for midnight to 11am tomorrow reflects this. On va voir!

Where do they get this info from?

I get that automated forecasts aren't always the best place to look, but that's just ridiculous.

Despite yellow weather warnings for snow and ice across Devon, the Met Office is not predicting any of the white stuff for Plymouth

Well it’s just sods law really. We finally got an easterly in winter but we’re missing that one important ingredient that we seem to get every other day of the year - precipitation!

Roll on storm season!

Wintry flurries ? Can the  BBC not mention the word snow? In Scotland some towns have had 2 feet of snow and not one report. I’ve just seen the forecaster mention more wintry flurries in Scotland,  yeah that’s what’s given 2 foot of snow . If it’s a flurry it’s snow, sleet or cold rain doesn’t flurry. Cockles.

Because Scotland is used to that weather

Nothing particularly interesting here so far this winter other than the perishing cold, and a few millimetres of snow grains early yesterday morning, gone before midday (but a snow day!). Tonight could be interesting temperature-wise as I almost beat my record -9.3°C grass minimum from the 2018 Beast just now, it's dropped to -9.2°C and currently -8.6.

My record air minimum of -6.0 from the 2018 Beast could be under threat later tonight, it is currently -3.3. Having no snow is frustrating to say the least.

A fair bit of snow on the radar over Kent and Sussex. Wonder if some of us over here will see any if the wind veers more easterly but I imagine it’ll break up by then...

Some pretty potent snow showers on the southern coast of Isle of Wight according to the radar. Not sure if anyone on here based in that area.

Wheeyyy!! Finally can report a covering on the ground in my part of my the Island since 2018! Southern parts of the Island are getting the best of as I was thinking Tonight. I'm just happy to see a covering at this point, in fact I was that confident of seeing something I planned an all nighter

Can confirm it's snowing just outside St Austell here

Looking at the radar been under the current snow shower for around a hour

There's a smaller band to the south going up but looks unlikely to go here

The wind is definitely something though making the snow drift in places

Small flakes settling on the velux windows . No street lights here so too dark to see outside yet. Nice to read that Cornwall and IOW are getting a little coating ☃️☃️

It is good to hear, isn't it!

The MO app has updated with various points today that I could get snow, but I'm not holding out much hope for anything more than what we have had this morning
