Lots of quiet thunder that sounded miles away, must have been very high, the heavy rain was louder, hence my description of it sounding like an MCs. Lightning wise, nothing visible at all.

Let’s hope for some fireworks tonight!

More Storms firing up in France, later on today it really does depend on what happens in Northern France as to what happens.

Nice having alerts on one of my apps for lighting.

Nice and warm and not too windy. Lawns cut, harvested some asparagus and chemical warfare against the the weeds.

Lunch to cook.  I’m doing roast chicken today. Mrs S making a black currant pie in an attempt to use up the blackberries we froze last season before this years ripen.

A line of heavy showers just running up the east coast, will miss us, but might hear some thunder from the distance. After a quick shower earlier around 9am, turned out sunny and with a breeze but from a warm direction now, so starting to feel humid......might just get a storm later

Had some nice rumbles of thunder and a quick heavy shower earlier. How nice to have gone out for coffee earlier and warm enough to take a jacket of, luckily shower happened just as we got home about 11-15am. Sad news just found out the downed fence is our responsibility also hedgehog is now deceased probably fell foul to one of the local pesky cats  got to say it why cant cats be kept in their owners property about time there was a law brought out.

I’m currently in Oulton Broad for the week visiting family (I’m from here originally).

Can hear a storm off the coast right now. Very dark looking out that way and quite a few loud grumbles.

Morning all! Good to see some people getting some thunder early on in the day!

I think today will be the first real feel of some humidgity feeling weather.. and the first risk at some storms for the year (finally)

The further East you are the better and even those on the East coast if it all goes to pot may see distant lightning out over the North Sea IF storms do fire.

METAR /TAF is also going for 40% chance of storms between 6-9pm this evening. I find METAR/TAF to be very handy for storm forecasting

I didnt hear the thunder, but my nervous nelly collie did, so shaking started, thankfully wasnt too close. And I completely agree about the cat comment! (But Im a dog lover  )

Thunder seems to have gone to sleep now, still raining, wonder if this storm is like the Iceland volcano, and just napping for a bit.

Plenty of lightening strikes out to sea, according to the lightening maps, might not make too much impact inland, time will tell.

I've had an excellent usable day of  May weather, social walk in the morning, and an afternoon cleaning out the conservatory/greenhouse. Best thing is, I finally had an celebratory glass of wine on the patio without having to wear a jumper and hat
