It has been snowing lightly for an hour, just had to brush off around half a centimetre off the car.

Radar speeded up somewhat. You can see the decaying remnants of Darcy ebbing away south. Then the first streamer to follow is incoming of the Norfolk coast. Alas it runs out of steam well before the M11. Not sure any streamer will make it even as far as London over the next day or so, unless the wind increases a lot or the winds shift to a perfect ENE.  For now things are easing in Southern Central England.

What a lovely little burst of snow. Settling on even the main roads at a modest 16m elevation, couldn’t resist a little walk.

That band is fading out now, all eyes on the Estuary! 533B3F21-7D38-4EDE-83DE-70AF484357E2.thumb.jpeg.ddf8e280c3d6506a0f268bbe79bc2a97.jpeg625D5799-0DD4-4397-BB02-EAF1548CCEC0.thumb.jpeg.369da29c7eb8b540dbf6eaa40537896a.jpeg710672A4-8DDC-41FE-AEDC-EC1AEB2A8D8A.thumb.jpeg.12443e4cd2dbeba3b793426542f9f1bc.jpeg

The models showed NE wind bringing streamers to mid Kent region (and others) - which it has. Then it showed winds moving to ENE , a lull in precip then a Thames streamer forming.

Latest wind charts are showing a move to ENE

The first half has been pretty accurate. Let’s see if that Thames streamer sets up soon...

Another good dusting while in Sainsbury's. Untreated roads near home are ice rinks. Less gritting this year, probably due to Covid, just bus routes and main roads it seems. Greenwich council about 25% down on staff right now.

Still a slight snizzle now, but hoping for more overnight.

Wind has swung ENE now, so fingers crossed

The wind has eased and I’m not convinced the streamers are going to get going for EA/SE, yes the uppers are perfect but there’s not enough oomph in the wind to get the showers going down here - different story up north though! The charts aren’t exactly predicting a deluge of snow for us unless I’m wrong? If anything the GFS has everything easing away by early Morning - maybe it’s wrong? I hope so!

Anyway We’ve had flurries here all Through the evening and have another sprinkling outside which is nice.

Interestingly, the light snow/ snizzle has picked up in intensity inland across the region south of the Thames in the last half hour. Don’t mind that trend

Interesting firstly temperature rose back upto -2 at 10pm and now back down to -2.3 @ 10.20.Wind has freshened and is an ENE direction and a few breaks in the sky.If estuary does fire up reckon we may still have a chance.May go to bed soon and set alarm for 2am to have a look then
