What about epsom?

The further NE you are the better, so a little better than Godalming, but it won't be spectacular.

I'm just taking a look at the latest models and it seems to me like the window is shortening and if anything the winds may stay just a little too northerly based. The Euro4 did suggest that might be the case earlier today having something closer to a mid Kent streamer instead, but obviously based further west than normal. Call it a hybrid!

Lets hope that the winds can be just a little more easterly, its close enough that it really wouldn't require much of a shift to get a more true ENE in and really kick start things.

How has it been for you today. Did you get much of an accumulation from the larger flakes this afternoon. We are around 0.5cm - 1cm now with a few piles of snow grains in places. The first signs on the radar now of a streamer setting up over the Thames Estary on the 7pm radar.  looks like it will deliver for Hants and Surrey, moving out into the Channel over Poole Harbour, Id say.

A minor warm sector has always threatened this evening, although it should have mixed out by mid morning tomorrow. Then the temps should drop away again.

Agree can't see a single station above - 1c East of London??

Surely that 1.2c can't be correct

Even Southend AP is - 2c

I know always a hard place to get snow as a long reach from Ipswich to us in Epsom.but we did do very well a couple of weeks ago while people in Norwich/Ipswich got nothing so shouldn’t complain.

Am I the only one thinking the NW radar is a bit glitchy? Seems to show complete dry/dead spots in the middle of precipitation all around. Southend has been in one for around half an hour yet it’s still snowing...

Personally, I think we are in for a lengthy cold spell here at least 2 weeks , if not more, and I’m no weather forecaster.

Which makes you far more qualified than most at the beeb

Snow causes issues with radar beams, tends to happen a lot with snowfall.

If SE Essex doesn’t get 5cm out of this streamer on the radar, I will eat my hat.

I don't think its a streamer, its just an area of light to moderate snow decaying fast.
