Euro4 looks too good to be true for Cheshire, streamer pretty much overhead through Monday, albeit sporadic. Looks to be hinting up to 5cm is possible...will believe it when I see it!

    Monday afternoon-

Snow accumulations look ok for a lot of the region-

Maybe we'll see Monday's yellow warning extended west later with an amber further east.

Yep I've just been in there.. extreme disappointment.. it might just be the expectation on their part though.

Give it 3 hours and it'll be an entirely different thread.

That has got me thinking seeing this.

What if say 2 inches of snow falls in the early hours but the wind starts to whip the snow clear so come 9am, the ground isn't more than 50% covered, therefore no lying snow in the official records.

Doesn't seem right, that, its the wind not a thaw that has removed the snow cover.

Updated fax still shows the trough/convergence zone in a similar position at midday tomorrow, just to the South of the region. In fact it stays in pretty much the same position for at least 36 hours. Whoever ends up under that is really going to hit the jackpot.

No snow here, but the bitterly cold wind is drying up the ground nicely, hopefully a bit of snow later according the Met which should stick.........

As far as our region goes, it sits over E Cheshire for a good while. So anywhere downwind of it should be OK too.

@Kasim Awan should be able to clarify the areas most at risk I think.

Little change here overnight, the snow we had looks to still be pretty much still intact but little if anything extra has fallen and surprisingly, what is on the ground still doesn’t look to be fully frozen.

There seems to be plenty of showers on offer today and in the next few days but as is the case with showers, some will get lucky whilst other miss out and the difference will be over very short distances.

very much a case of ignoring the specifics in the forecasts and just looking out of the window.

Yes I thought that when I saw it... Another thing that came to mind was if the extreme temperatures being modelled over the Netherlands are predicated on large amounts of snow being on the ground then that changes that scenario somewhat.

Also all that snow being blown into the marina.. somewhat of a waste!

At least they’re in their own regional rather than hogging the Model Thread.

TBH wherever it showed on the BBC news had heavy snow falling and a decent amount on the ground but everyone expects/demands the maximum from these set ups so there will no doubt be some toy throwing going on for those on the fringes.

At least they have a chance in the snow raffle though, imagine living in the Northwest and looking enviously at other parts of the country while knowing that your chances of anything more than a flake or two are almost zero.....oh wait🤬
