We had about 2-3cm of wet slushy snow this morning. Temp has risen a bit 1.1c/0.7c. Looking at my CCTV, it turned to snow around 3am and was quite heavy until 5am, then petered out. Better than nothing. Now having a heavy rain shower.

1c cooler and it would have been quite an epic fall.

Chucking it down with rain here in Reigate.

Yes but the view earlier up to Colley Hill.  Snow line looks at about 180m given the top there is 230m.  All rain here at 110m.

When day 10 is mentioned, does that mean 10 days from now or the 10th of the month?

It does seem to be a day that never arrives for me though

Hi Scrat,

Great photos.

Biggin Hill never fails. The Alpe D'huez of my home Borough of Bromley!!

Will never forgot, the time I went on a Snow chase up to your part of the World.

I was living in Anerley at the time, in the extreme N.W. tip of the Borough.

Forecast was for heavy Rain, with Snow likely over higher parts of the South East.

Left home in icy cold rain, by the time I got to Bromley Town Centre, it had turned to Sleet.

Bromley Town Centre is just over 200 Feet, above Sea Level.

Jumped on a Bus to Biggin, got up to the top of Masons Hill and it had turned to heavy Snow.

By the time we got to Keston, it was settling easily.

When I got off the Bus in Biggin High Street, which is around 570 Feet above Sea Level, Snow was 3 inches thick on the pavements. Can't remember the exact Year but probably in the 1990's.

A little while later, got back down to Bromley Town Centre and nothing but cold Rain and wet pavements!!

Thought you might like to see the image, below.

It is of The Queen's Head in the Village of Downe, next door to Biggin Hill.

Still pouring with rain here in Farnham, Surrey, temps are rising slowly

temp  4.1

dp 3.2

Looks like it will get cold tonight but I’m guessing that’s because it will be clear skies and no precipitation!!

feels really damp inside my old cottage!!

Thanks Tom!  I hope you and yours are well?

Yes, Biggin Hill is normally quite lucky (if you like snow!), although, like others it's been a real let down of late!  It is crazy how you can have so much snow in a small area and then a couple of miles down the road nothing!  I'm just pleased that we have camera's on mobile phones now, as when at work (in Bromley) they have nothing and say 'how can you be snowed in, we have nothing here', I can come back with evidence.....not that it matters at the moment!

Love the picture of the Queens Head.  Think I may purchase this book.

Take care for now.

Sarah

Im sure I read in one of the great late Philip edens columns that 56hrs was the longest period of continouius rain in the UK.Ithink it was London. Has this spell surpassed it. Would love to know

Was it continuous anywhere?

Here it was more wet than dry but there where many small gap's between showers.
