Yet another Saturday I look out my window to see cold heavy rain and the road flooding again...

Just one time surely we can be lucky hear and get some falling snow for a change...

Just on the turn here ... but predicated on heavier precip bringing sleet and lighter  is still rain

.it’s going to take a sustained period of intense precip to give any hope of accumulating

Wet morning here in Tunbridge Wells

Does not appear that the anything has been resolved modelling wise for next weekend.

Yes, not quite so clear cut from the models.

Saying that, whilst I have a huge respect for those who have the knowledge and take the time to post on the MAD Thread, for me, the most significant development is the MO mid and long ranger which was a big upgrade yesterday. Quite unusual for them to mention cold and snow so far out. Let’s face it, they have access to far more resources than we have so, until this changes, I’m optimistic. They’ve also been pretty on the money so far this winter on their 16 and 30 dayers.

I was trying to think back to the BFTE in 2018 and I’m sure, about a similar time out, we had some model wobbles but the MO outlook stayed rock solid.

If the temp rises as morning goes on I think it not much chance of snow ?

To all thepeople in Kent who think that there's been no snow... December 4th,  significant accumulation on the north downs north of Hythe and Ashford. Jan 16 several cm of snow on north downs at 7 in morning  before rain washed it away.

Yes, this was the morning we drove to Wales to collect my daughter from uni. Left Folkestone at 6am and it was snowing here but only laying on cars in a slushy mess. By Ashford it was properly snowing and on the ground.

A lorry had the misfortune of crashing on the M20 so all traffic was diverted onto the A20 between Ashford and Maidstone. Then took 2 hours to get to Maidstone! Luckily the falling snow kept me entertained - very pretty to watch and looked like there was around 5cm in places. Very localised though; as soon as you were north of Maidstone there was nothing!

Has the forecasted changed overnight? It looked pretty awful for today and from tomorrow afternoon, but now it seems the heavy rain will clear these parts by lunchtime today to not much at all tomorrow? Or is this weekend still a lot of now-casting?

Temperature has fallen from 3 to 2.2 in the last hour.

Snow is a bit stop start so not sure it will come to anything.

A lot of people use their phones and the location doesn't show on the mobile site.
