I said yesterday it was a heart and head thing and sadly the head won!we had about 0.5-1cm here in Locksbottom but it has all gone now and been drizzling for the last hour in between glimpses of sun.Great to see a lot have seen snow in the thread but those in Kent and Essex the wait goes on.Still 6 weeks of winter left though so reasons to be optimistic

Front is looking likely to fizzle when it comes back SE, so for those who didnt see anything including myself please be mindful of those expectations.

Harmonie is interesting almost develops a streamer like band as it does head SE.

Very much alone however.

What time do we expect the band to pivot and move back SE again?

You can clearly see the the string SE breeze shearing away at the front on the NE edge of the front hence the rain reports. Still hopeful for seeing something white later for us further north in the region as the front pivots and starts heading SE again ?? Impressive scenes out west

Hope so

The sun's just come out, here . . . another 'snow event' that never was?!

Yes indeed!...I fancy we'll have a few more failed attempts before the winter is out or maybe a slushting! (wet minimal dusting of snow) i.e pointless.

You can't help but think with all the GW effects (warmer sst's/continent) etc. this would have been a not bad winter a number of years back.

Same here my boy’s 11 so was very young the last time he saw massive flakes like this.

Also you having a few cm’s already bodes well for here.

Yeah I still think you're in with a shout as its heading that way but it easing a bit now.

Another "duff event for Kent"

One must look at the bigger picture though, this winter has been truly dreadful here but in 2018 we had it good compared to other places.

Roll on Spring I'd say!

Radar now starting to turn green here, so we’re going to see diddly squat. Cambridge snow shield in full effect.

and to add insult to injury it is now raining...this winter will go down as one of the most frustrating of recent times.

The rain has turned to graupel here for a bit.

It will pivot throughout the day its not till this evening it heads back South. Its very weak however and by the time it gets to London its decayed to a point where you're not really going to get any falls.

I just hope that the SSW (should it do much) does its worst before Smarch, and we can all enjoy a long warm, sunny spring, summer and autumn.

Sums it up nicely. Surrounded by snow, I get nothing/rain.

Postings some times do that. Not sure why. Think it is a matter of your message is not uploaded properly. You then some time in the future get a message about your message still being there, which you have to clear

I'm not even going to count the minute of very light snow we had earlier as snow. So currently no snow for me since BFTE of 2018!

Amazing, couple of hours of snow in Somersham, but hardly settled, nipped over to Tesco in Ramsey, proper heavy snow, came home via the Raveleys, and it was proper winter wonderland stuff.

It's been trying to snow here in North Essex for about half an hour. Every now and then there is a quick flurry and then it stops. All a bit frustrating at the mo.

I was going to have a stroll over Abbots Ripton earlier, but went to Hilton instead.

Wonder if we will get anything later on as it heads back down south?
