next lot of showers moving more SE, but what as? thaw setting in here now

You'd be good for snow. Temperatures and dew points should be fine today. The thaw will just be the sun on what was...lets be honest...just a wet sloppy covering of snow.

That PPN looks to be tracking right to us in a few hours could be another covering.

That it is, the wind has shifted in our favour.

But it is showing signs of weakening...but I think at the very least a few flurries will make the journey. It's already getting overcast here as the remains of previous showers drift over.

Maybe that stuff along the N Shropshire border can make it here, I'm north of Shrewsbury so if it gets to Wem that's touching distance. All too often it starts to break up once it realizes its in Shropshire, unless its come straight down the gap rather than over Wales.

Yeah, we need a bit more northerly to the flow to get in on any real fun.

They need to come at us from Staffordshire, not Shropshire. (Sorry Shrewsbury!)

Right, so, I now have no warnings for snow this weekend.

What then this this white stuff laying deep on the ground and filling the sky?

Think they are updating the warning area for today. Can take 30 mins after cancellation.

I think this is the reason why leicester is still in the warnings cos it could still end up further north!!all eyes on the radar tonight across ireland!!

Nah...stand down. Those showers are very quickly losing their yellows and greens as they enter Shropshire on the radar.

Could you guys out there move your snow shield out of the way please?

Very grey now to the north, radar suggests precip within 10 miles, but what is it? To be honest it feels too warm for snow to stick for long, the sun has melted nearly all the frost. Time of day really shouldn't be an issue in January, but this is the winter of random weather behaviour.

Not much likely to fall here, just some extra cloud cover, running out juice, thanks to the welsh hills.
