Yeah, I thought that but might have started losing the plot today.

No the main band is still moving south east. But quite a few showers breaking of it and heading West also a bit of activity near Northern Ireland that might come into play later.

Too mild in Belper to settle. Sleety stuff. Even on high ground, steady drip drip and very wet snow at best. Temperatures of met office seem off to me. Been on zero degrees for hours but my car, and the evidence around me, says 2 degrees

Some of that stuff over Eastern areas is definitely heading further West according to the radar, with some pepping up of the precipitation around the Derby and Western Peterborough area (circled in black). Just a question I guess whether some of that can hold up as it gets further West.

So may not be over yet. Perhaps temperatures will have dropped enough to increase chances of some snow falling. Even though admittedly it is all marginal

Light snow in Burbage.  It is spreading West a bit....how about Leicester? @sheikhy

I’d rather that pathetic band of rain/snow doesn’t approach us, because it will probably end up bringing drizzle, or perhaps flurries/light sleet.

Yup started snowing again but really dissapointing so far mate

Radar shows some heavy stuff for you in next 30 mins or so. But overall yh its been a disappointment for the Mids except for a few lucky spots in North Mids.

Really wasnt expecting anything looking at radar and direction. Imagine my surprise west of Northampton half an hour ago when white stuff joined the light drizzle for a while.

Seems to be all fizzling out quite quickly on its Western edge towards us now

There are a couple of interesting developments to the dying front, whether they can break the snow drought in the middle Midlands I can't say

Here on Edgehill the temperature was 9 degrees at 0700.  It’s now 1.3.

The wind was north-westerly this morning, but at 15.00 shifted round to north-easterly and the front that was sliding past is now headed this way.

Will inform if any snow forms, still focussed on the 21st!
