Just been driving around Dudley area, the snow line is around 200m but you need to get to 250m plus around Oakham area before it is a truly white world. Even up there settling snow is probably only 5cm or so which is quite low given the volume of snow that has fallen.

Yep mate lives there about 850ft   he as said its a struggle

Seems to be about to go sleety then we get another wind-fall of flakes, but it's still way too light and nothing sticking even though it feels plenty cold enough.

Off on a local snow hunt to walk the dogs now...

This has been a very frustrating event. Despite the rain turning to wet snow here at around 10:30am for around 45 mins, we have had rain and sleet since then.

Heaviest blob of PPN to reach us all day arrived 25 mins ago and all it delivered was rain with the odd flake in it! I would have expected some evaporative cooling to bring the temp down enough for it to have been all snow, but no

At least today shows us what a waste of time ECM Accumulation charts are!

It certainly is a struggle considering how much snow has actually fallen

At work now in Birmingham city centre and it’s turned back to rain here.

Apparently under the thick of it again (according to the radar), and not even an odd random flake, absolutely Zilch here.  I could understand if it was falling here and being blown elsewhere, but I can actually see the cloudbase and the odd skudd.

(Also is it me or is the forum lagging)

Stopping here now didn't amount to anything much due to the warm ground and wet snow. Yep shows accumulation charts are pointless especially in marginal situations. On to the next one we go.

I suppose we in the West Midlands can’t complain this Winter

No, can’t complain at all.

Low expectations for the next few days, but I’ll keep an eye on the forecasts around mid week and see where we stand going forward from there.

Today has been interesting to follow as ever so once again, thank you everyone for your input.

The thin cover of lying snow from earlier this morning has thawed below 320 mts, above that it's still white despite the snow being very light for most of the time.

Took a walk down to Downs Bank nature reserve, Stone. Wet snow falling the whole way and a dusting around Lightwood. No snow settled elsewhere.

Keeps the snow risk going for much longer on Tuesday. Could be a decent dumping for the northern half of the region I reckon, so long as it doesn’t trend northward.
