A lot of models do show a drier slot from around the Wash directly south eastward. That drier band to the north of the low. South East Midlands may struggle to see much. Ironically, the North West Midlands may be better placed in this easterly than the South East Midlands.

Aye, true that, the low for Tuesday is a bit further South, streamer showing to my north

The Atlantic breakdown isn’t happening as was forecasted, the GFS 06z is showing the cold holding firm as the battle ground is right over the Midlands with snow incoming Thursday evening from the West but then stalls and is still falling over us Friday afternoon ( all just fun at this stage ) but it shows a very interesting week ahead for us coldies ⛸❄️?⛄️⛷

Oh no. The  dreaded  yellow warning. Guaranteed the only flakes in birmingham will be the ones in my breakfast bowl.

You’ll have to settle for these then ( sorry I said “settle” )

Unfortunately, I think it will continue to be pushed westward and might not even get into the U.K. That would though prolong the cold spell.

I know warnings are about as not very accurate but if you lived in this tiny silver about half a mile wide you would think you were unlucky!

I thought the 2018 one was ridiculous... What is the point of that

The warning here will be more about the ice risk, no accumulation amounts mentioned.

But let’s see, as already mentioned, we’ve been in this position before and ended up surprised.

Anyone else under this dense fog this morning or is it just up here? Surprised there’s no warnings out for that.

Edit: Apologies, it does mention 1 to 4 cm under further details but only for high ground.

Must be my elevation, looks like it’s trying to clear and break up now anyway.

Gornal spends a lot of winter wrapped up cozily in it’s own cloud!

The BBC weather app is having non of this snow nonsense - cool temperatures just above freezing ( so not even any ice days) with "light cloud and light winds" throughout the entire week

From Tuesday due to excess cold in the midlands all football matches will now become ice hockey matches and will take place on local ponds. Still the battle Atlantic v high next week who wins my money on stubborn high.

Aperge is picking up more and more streamers with each run Those dismissing this as a dry, not very cold non event had better start making room for lots of humble pie

Even by the following Tuesday temperatures still haven’t got above freezing, with a lot of deep cold lurking to the east of the U.K.

Some have a little shower activity tomorrow but I do think we will have to wait until Monday.

im not being picky  - haha - but we have snow showing now for our area yeah..... but I do love it when the snow happens during daylight!!  Love watching it real time.  Its so hard at night time - constantly putting the hand out of the window to activate the garden light.  But ill take any snow  !  Ill watch it with wine instead and go for a midnight tipsy walk

Oh and I do love an amber warning
