So as the ppn is actually traveling east we have 2 counteractions,

1, the southerly track which will pull it southeasterly in time

2 we could end up been in it for longer as we almost go southeast to northwest with the front rather than direct south,

Think as mines gone in the main id snatch an inch now lol

I’m sure there maybe some surprises. Atlantic systems against that block to the NE. Maybe a couple of milder days in between

Beast was better for me but I was in Nottingham at the time, caught a 16 hour streamer. This is definitely the best since that day though, and other than that the best since 2013.

We don't get that round here anymore  council replace the sodium lampposts with those awful useless white LED things that make everything darker  It just takes on a dull greyish hue.

Enjoy it whilst you can

Yeah those lights ruin it as we have them on the street out front and the sky is pretty much as you said but luckily the back where the pic was took is dark and most light from streets further back are blocked by those trees. Real 2010 vibes every time i see that sky

Moderate snow here now, dog is recharging batteries ready for next snowy walk

Make sure you check your dog's foot pads for blisters/frostbite.  Dog's don't have shoes to protect their bare flesh from the cold, and short-haired dog's are exceptionally vulnerable.  A friend in my old class at high school (decades ago) had to have one of their pet dogs paw's amputated because it got frostbite after a walk during the winter.

Here in Upper Gornal, the Beast from the East definitely delivered more.

The most I've seen here since I moved here was March 2013. That was exceptional in these parts.

Agree Gord, the drifts from March 2013 were just spectacular, the snow depths as well. Also the snow laid on the ground for ages!

Front starting to weaken now, not a bad fall, roughly 3 inches has fallen.

Emmm we’ll see....a good 3 hours of it to come if you ask me.

I've gone from snizzle to light snowfall as my earlier cleared car is now covered again

Radar has been showing snow over me for the past hour but not a flake has fallen from the sky.

Great event though. Heaviest snow of the winter so far.

Heaviest snowfall but I assume not the most significant accumulation of snowfall this season for  you Matt?

Possibly the deepest in my part of Stoke. I’ve seen deeper snow on my walks around Stoke-on-Trent. The event just after Christmas saw a similar amount.

Yep, gone from mizzle to frizzle, to snizzle, and now ,snoizzle, as the flakes get bigger.

The ENE wind is now picking up and the snow comes across in waves, just like it is drifting snow.

Quite an unusual event this! Lets see whether it will remain fairly active.

I know the MO have a difficult balancing act when issuing warnings and I don't expect them to be 100% but I have to disagree with Marco here, the warning did not suggest 15cm.
