Ladies and gentlemen you are not going to believe it. After a wait of almost 3 years... 😮

I don't suppose I have anything to complain about this winter...      .

I've waited years to get a picture of the house covered with snow.  Finally!

Well here you go folks... Met office warning could hardly be accused of  getting it wrong now could they?🙄

Snowed pretty much all night here I think, albeit very lightly. An extra 2cm to freshen everything up. Tomorrow looks like a cracking day!! 🙂

    Wot he says.

Temperature 2.7deg.C up from -0.9deg.C at 00:01, humidity 93%, no wind, pressure 1019.1hPa steady, 2cm of new snow, 7/8 cloud cover and dew point is at 2deg.C.

Plenty of heavy/intense precipitation getting wasted over the North Sea on the above charts - real-time if this is slightly further West guys like @101_North and @Polar Side might YET AGAIN 😃 have their 500th decent snowfall of the Winter so far.

Honestly - I'd be pretty gutted if he got snow and I didn't 🤣😂

In reality despite radar showing snow for hours it only actually snowed for about an hour, not enough to crack the sledges out properly I don't think.

The radar is showing the lightest of precipitation which means it will be barely falling out the sky.

Looks like could get a bit heavier tonight for a short while... Not enough snow to entice me out to the hill but kids are sledging on basically ice they tell me.

Very wet sleet on now. Just what the doctor ordered. Been for my walk, stove's on, feet up, cuppa tea to hand. Bliss. <rubs eyes> Ok, not quite bliss.

First shower has arrived, heavy rain...

Not surprised as temperature still 2.8c.  Supposed to get colder later on, hopefully snow from the showers then and not more freezing rain.

Just back from taking the dog out for a walk before it got dark and it's a combination of sleet and wet snow at the house (200m), but up over 300m it's definitely snow. Quite heavy snow too and lying. Temp dropped back below 1C now after sitting between 1 & 1.5C most of the day.

Waste of good ppn really - if it could just hang around till the small hours, it might be useful but that doesn't seem likely.

Light sleety snow now at sea level and 1.3C, not settling except as slush on cars. Sister reports snow just up the hill and starting to settle.

Edit - which tallies with @Northern Strath as she's at about 130m.

Random question but take it you have a nice 4x4 of some kind to live up there?
Each winter I start to convince myself I could own a Hilux/L200/Nivara etc but at 20,000 miles a year the fuel would bury me.

My seat leon is shocking on roads like that

Currently 1C with sleet. Mets forecast seems optimistic but we shall see.

Significant thaw evident on the commute back home tonight, even the highest points on the route were free of snow and ice.
