I love how easy it is these days to find out your altitude using the elevation finder. It's fairly accurate too.

I've passed the time lately using it to explore the elevation of Highland villages like Braemar, Tomintoul, Newtonmore, Aviemore etc.

It's led to someone interesting findings about the highest village

Newtonmore is another village I visited last Feb in the heavy snow looking for a stone to lift

There's not a lot there, stunning scenery though

Once all this Covid malarkey passes I hope to explore more of the Highlands and Newtonmore will be on the list.

Well the snaw has turned back to pish again..i think i might just draw a line under this winter as a waste of time and look forward to gaining at least 100m before next winter arrives..

Surprising.   Snowing here and accumulating painfully slowly.  0.3C.

I’m actually looking forward to some dry weather for a few days. Then let’s see what the weather brings. Can’t be any worse than the last four days! Keep the snaw photos coming as it gives us all hope!

Woke up at 3am this morning and knew it was dry outside because the rain/sleet wasn’t bouncing off the window. Downside was that I could actually hear my tinnitus for the first time since Monday. Every cloud.

Well if you're bored and want to see the stone (and the gorgeous scenery it's in) it's located on Coffin Road, which has a sign at the entrance which you can't miss

<checks radar casually>

  <dark red blob, here now>

<whips open the curtain and finds... stained glass window all>

Why do I bother?

Will Perth get enough snow for a snowman? Telt the wee lad snow was coming lol. Guessing bad

I'd think Perth's in a decent position for a covering of snow - it'll certainly be cold enough for a few days and unlike a lot of us who wait apprehensively for a bit of a northerly element to the flow to emerge Perth does pretty well from due east or ESErly winds.

The pink area is spreading and much of the rest now green rather than blue!

They need to take down their sign then!!

I heard Flash is a pretty small village, Leadhills has a pub for instance.

Nenthead in Cumbria is very high up must be about 1400ft.

1489ft seems to be the highest point in Nenthead - 454 metres is the highest point I could find with the lowest point being around 425. Yep, that's high!

1.4c/0.3c light wind from ESE

Hope the temperatures dip overnight.
