Moaning!

2/3hrs very light snowfall depositing at best 2cms.  0.6c/0.2c/1016mbs.   Turning slushy.

Januarys over the past few years here have failed to produce anything much at all, so I'm looking on this month's production so far as a bit of a bonus really.

How's that for a positive outlook?   Now, if you will all excuse me, I'm away into the bathroom to bite the towel!!

There certainly seem to be some precipitation events that are radar-only... I used to think it was related to the angle of approach, but not any more. It's as if the ppn evaporates before reaching ground level.

Twenty third air frost at -6.1C. Currently -0.5C and spitting with snow. 3cm fresh deposits and because of the low temps it's stuck to everything and made it look fresh and clean. Lovely.

Edit - nothing on radar but steady light snow. Opposite of others' experience! What a weirdly weak 'cold' front.

About 1cm of snow down in the town centre which is no mean feat! The first for nearly 3 years

Yellow warning out for tonight for here which is line with some of the charts with some showers moving down the east later. Not expecting much, if anything, here but the charts suggest a little more intensity to the ppn than last nights front. Temp here is just above freezing although the light snow has stopped with a dusting on most surfaces unaffected by gritting.

I’m loving how that warning map specifically  excludes the East Neuk. Thinking of taking a boat out later.

Forget stalling that front was travelling! models really didn’t have it moving across the country anywhere near as fast and I think that was the main spoiler as it didn’t allow the temperatures and dewpoints to drop as well as they could have, I had a dusting here at about 2am waited up another half hour then seen my dewpoint go above zero so called it a night, really happy u got some @Hawesy  the stuff here was similar to the pic @Stormeh posted least it’s another one to go on the lying snow day tally a bit of a surprise to see this on latest run for tonight, it’s another one for @LomondSnowstorm list a feature coming from the north this time a trough let’s see what it’s capable of but could be another covering for some and looking like another minus double digit night further west  @shuggee get this one framed

A bit lacklustre here, a dusting overnight but it's mostly gone now with last weeks ice remaining. I don't think it rained it was just very light snow for a few hours.

I’ll be surprised if the showers spread as far west as Edinburgh but you never know

Not too hopeful of anything here tonight as source is from a northerly direction.   We don't even get a frost covering in these parts from a northerly.   Think northern Scotland, some border areas and northeast England should do okay though from frequent heavier showers.

If  I am wrong, and everyone on here knows I am never right, I shall bow to the north come morning!

Currently 1.9c/1.5c/1019.5mbs.

Different feeling day than of late, with a steady thaw ongoing - be glad to get rid of the surface ice so you can actually walk at more than a snails pace!

Currently 3c, calm conditions.  No evidence of any overnight snow.

Not the unbroken sunshine of yesterday, but some nice sunny intervals all the same.

That gif is the best outcome for more folk in here to see snowfall - hopefully it becomes reality!

Latest Met Office/UKV latest is basically the same as the warning.

@Hawesy could yet be clipped with more sleet/snowfall tonight!

Inland areas of Midlothian, East Lothian and Scottish Borders (North and East) look most at risk for snowfall. (Excluding everywhere else in Scotland from this post - just commenting on the SE risk)

You can also see some heavy snow showers popping up further South and quite a far way West.

Plenty of heavy/intense precipitation getting wasted over the North Sea on the above charts - real-time if this is slightly further West guys like @101_North and @Polar Side might YET AGAIN  have their 500th decent snowfall of the Winter so far.

Honestly - I'd be pretty gutted if he got snow and I didn't

We are too sheltered here from the North to see anything from the coming showers I feel. The sun has just come out here and it feels quite pleasant out. Temp 1.8C from a min of -3C before the snow. A side effect of the snowfall last night is that as it softened it allowed the grit on the road to get at the ice below and the road is now the clearest it has been since before Christmas Eve.
