Current temperature in Norton, Stockton around 3° with rain and forecast don't show it dropping overnight so not expecting anything great

It’s 0.8 here and guess what light rain, uppers to high?

Seems to be more of a

North Easterly element to the showers now.

Heavy dollops of rain in darlington. Disappointing so far hopefully we will do better in the future. 850's too high sea temps too high.

It’s a shame it’s not snow as these are heavy showers. Never mind hoping for some more snow in near future, not been in the mod thread so no idea if it’s been good or bad lol.

Full on freezing rain here now. It's an ice rink out there! We were going to go for a quick walk around the block; we had to hold onto the garden wall to get back to the door without going A over T.

Gilesgate here. I was about to do the same. Maybe not, then? :/

Out of curiosity does anyone know the reasoning why our showers have now turn to sleet or rain were the rest of the country seem to continue to get snow

We are the first to get the warm sector coming from the North Sea.

Yeah, wind is coming in off the sea now bringing higher temps.and especially dewpoints.

Boulmer right on the coast is currently temp +6 and dewpoint +3

The North sea snow machine as we like to call it sometimes is overheating & needs cooling down by a few degrees

Piddling with rain in darlington all our snow from this morning will soon be gone. The North Sea is both our friend and enemy.

Absolutely tipping it down with rain now.....so frustrating with loads of other places getting the good stuff.

Well we are with you but over 12 miles from the coast and only cold rain showers, the temperature here has risen to  1.9 c, if only the uppers would be better.

How disappointing i was watching the Radar and thought I would come in here to see how my north east friends were enjoying all that snow! I didn't think it was rain showing on the radar. Clearly as winds swing round to the north east they are dragging in milder air from the sea. No snow here but its still -1.3c.
