Far north and northeast of England weather discussion

Reports of heavy snow in lowland Manchester and Merseyside with a decent cover already, not sure what is going on at all, must be the intensity of the precipitation there. Here we just have sleet so far, need heavier precipitation.

trying to snow here in prudhoe/stocksfield area!! was heavy rain and then i started to see flakes!

Flakes in Whickham now. Earlier than planned, so I'm hopeful.

Snowing here in Hexham now. 0.7 degrees in the garden. Not settling yet.

Again it’s the usual places. I would say low areas will be around midnight. If we get anything.

50m asl and it's almost on the turn. More and more flakes amongst the rain now

Settling here now at 0.2 degrees. Dropped 0.5 degrees in last 30 mins

Starting to turn to snow now in Eastend of Newcastle some huge flakes in there

Big flakes in Gateshead and its starting to settle. Amazing considering how wet it is. Looking at the radar we are in sleet, but defo snow.
