It seems typical of this winter that low lying areas look set to miss out on snow again….

wind wind and more damaging winds!

Good chance of some wet snow at least temporarily once the centre of the low moves through with the cold air digging in behind on its NW flank. If the low us a bit further south more of the region should see snow at low levels with less milder uppers in the mix.

It's a very messy set up.. dew points and lapse rates, strength of wind, depth of low heights, intensity of precipitation all factors determing amount of snow and location.

As expected all snow warnings now gone for this region.

Yep the norm is resumed NES.

It's been another poor winter, once Feb is out even though we may still see the threat of snow I am starting to want warmer weather.

Still an interesting day tomorrow though, for me, the worst weather is winds, gales, rain and sleet !!

I agree, it’s been a winter to forget for my location. When you have them like this you pray for warmer weather asap.

It’s going to be a horrible day tomorrow but like you say interesting all the same.

I think some parts of the NE inland with a little elevation will see white stuff, and quite a lot on the hills. Yes maybe not at sea level and on the coast.

GFS looks like delivering a few surprises in next 14 days from the Polar Maritime air wrapped around the storms. Shame the Sun getting a tad stronger or would last in some spots from Storm to Storm.

May take my count to nearer 20 before Spring proper but still half that of last couple of years

What's the realistic expectation for us then?

A bit of a breeze and some rain/sleet?

Yeah basically a Friday

It was the marginal snow that caused so much mayhem with Arwen & weight on power lines, from wet, sticky snow, rather than felled trees. Tomorrow could be similar for large clusters

The slight shift North on Eunice has added extra couple of centimetres to the forecast. Could certainly be tricky come rush hour for Transpennine commuters

Heavy snow in Durham with nice big flakes. Nice to see even if it doesn't last long!

Does anyone know how the A1 is looking? And dare I say the A66?

I am travelling north in the early hours of Saturday to Scotland - normally I would be going up the A1 from Yorkshire, then over the A66, but I am thinking I might be best going straight up the A1 to Edinburgh?

A1 it is then! Although we are not travelling until after midnight, I doubt it's going to get any better on that road!

Bit of a disappointment.  Last week and the week before were worse than the little bit of wind we had tonight.

East side of the Pennines could see low level covering from heavy snow showers overnight. Optimum time for a cover will be early hours so many may wake up to a white blanket tomorrow morning. Not sure if showers will be long lasting enough west side Pennines for a covering but could be surprise awakening here as dewpoints and all parameters would allow for snow cover just need precipitation and enough of it.
