This evening a disappointment. snowed a little at 6pm then warmed up again. Snowing a bit now but nothing settling 0.6 degrees. I snow is difficult to forecast but was expecting a covering this evening. Let's see what tomorrow brings!

I echo that, I thought all of us would have had snow tonight at some point but nope still miserable rain.

For those saying they've got nowt Sun 7th was the day the beast was due to hit, tonight is just the vol au vents for a select few.

The main courses start after midnight, then hopefully we all feast

I'm a miserable, pessimistic bstd. I admit that, made much, much worse by work stress. But when good stuff comes, I jump in with both feet.

Well here’s hoping the snow over the coming week puts a smile on your face!

It is snowing lightly here now in Westmoor The models still looking good IMBY for cold/snow, I am just a little bit underwhelmed by what is on the radar at the moment though it would be showing some big stuff in the North sea by now, I know there is plenty of time yet, we shall see

Jeez, I'm disappointed with this evening so far with the start of this cold snap - They are going bonkers for FI charts in 2 weeks time on the main thread

That low that's brought the current precipitation is still too close to allow the convection to kick off properly. It's moving away slowly and surely but there's a cap on convection while it's still in the vicinity. Keep an eye on satellite, you'll see the showers forming off Denmark well in advance of them appearing on radar.

Snow level is not only dependent in height asl, but also distance from coast.  The stronger the wind the greater distance inland the warning effect....this is why temps stabilised, despite cold air feed.....now-10 uppers heading in, which will eliminate marginally for everyone.   And of course...produce convection....

This is the area to watch, it'll become increasingly clear as the easterly sets in, and then we should see it filling with showers.

Still up, waiting. Sad for a 58 year old eh? Never mind, having fun drinking vodka, playing Scrabble online and beating the Yanks, and listening to Jesus and Mary Chain. Not minding the wait, keeping check on the relentless rain!
