Very unusual set up this pulse of precipitation making a beeline for Liverpool. The flow is offshore, temperature is just about right for snow - perhaps the intensity will help if the windspeeds remain slack as well. I'm struggling to recall a pulse of ppn coming from that direction towards Merseyside to be honest - maybe a surprise is in store but it's on fine margins.

Usually if its cold, and it arrives from land and not sea, liverpool does ok. But if it draws in sea air... its rain.

Fingers crossed

If it can't snow to low levels with the set up we have tonight and into tomorrow, we may aswell pack this weather lark in.

Temps have climbed my sensor reads 2.5 degrees so not sure what is happening  some of the snow has gone, radar shows pink here but again nothing falling from sky. I'll resign myself to thinking any fresh snow overnight will be a bonus.

It all seems to be blowing up over north-east. The liverpool blob needs to blow up a little east for me but looks like more intensification over blackburn way that may hit this side of merseyside.

Second band of snow has reached east Cumbria, coming down thick and fast between Penrith and Carlisle -0.6c here so no problems with temperature.

Can't make it up hahaha, I know there is many of us like this and it is early but it's amazing we haven't all ended up mad following the radar in the last 2 weeks.

There is way more precipitation on the radar than the models suggest. At this rate will all see something falling hopefully snow at some point overnight

Anyone know how to stop the radar skip boxes from highlighting?
