Radar keeps predicting a halt to the snow, but it has now got heavier. Could be fun taking a relative for a covid jab this morning.

Snowvid jab. LOL

Another Heavy wet snow shower passing through. Most sticking snow this season so far has been after dark, overnight or early morning pre 9am it demonstrates the marginality that we in the NW have been generally on the right side of away from the Wirral & the coast. We as a region to be fair have done really well this winter compared to areas South of Birmingham that have had a pretty snowless Winter so far but it’s been marginal all the same no real big freeze that February might or might not deliver.

I must say for the north west this has been the best snow season for years, possibly going back to 2010/11

Wish I could say the same for our area of the NW.....

same..

this year will be forever known as the year with too much rain and alot of cold... but not much snow.  Todays 1cm in places is the biggest snowfall since maybe 2019?  that was exactly the same in terms of showers and depth

Really lovely huge flakes from last shower... properly mesmerising 1-2 inches nearly three inches on car/bin lids... was really heavy for half an hour... it’s like someone has spray painted all the twigs and branches on the trees... so pretty

It’s unusual to see Manchester City centre so badly affected by snow, this is how it was about 11am. Visibility on the Mancunian Way was pretty poor.

The lack of snow was more than made up by some epic views towards Wales and some impressive cloudscapes!

Trough energy soon to be making an appearance. Showers forming now, large ones towards the IOM with our name on them. Radar is suggesting snow, but I’d like to suggest otherwise. It does not feel cold outside at all.

You can see snow even on the Great Orme from the Llandudno cafe  webcam and the snow over towards Penmaenmawr and surrounding hills

This North Wales webcam shows views from the West Shore of Llandudno across to Penmaenmawr, Puffin Island, Angelesey and the south west of the Great Orme.

Liverpool airport has somehow hit 5C... makes it the warmest place north of Cornwall....

Wow it's like 4-5C in thurstaston

Just back from a drive around the Wirral wanted to see the difference in a few miles.

Wallasey 3C concrete

Moreton 3C slushy

West Kirby 4C concrete

Caldy 2C slightly slushy

Thurstaston 2C concrete

Parts of Heswall 2C slushy

Thingwall 2C 1cm of snow cover

Prenton 2C 1cm of snow cover

Birkenhead 2C 1cm of snow cover

& then back home.

So basically even though the Wirral is small, living in those central areas makes all the difference.
