Check your risk of flooding: get current flood warnings, river and sea levels, check the 5-day forecast or use flood risk maps

Hopefully that prediction doesn’t come to fruition eek

Cooler air digging in but the proper cold air won't be with us until after midnight. This is a cooler boundary but mainly due to evaporative cooling.. but even that has its limits for now. I still expect some snow around 8pm but it won't be anything other than a wet slushy mess at that point.

Might be less slushy and more slippy here. We shall see.

Maybe at the highest points it will be cool enough to freeze the snow after it departs.. over 300m asl maybe but for the rest it'll probably quickly melt. That said there's going to be some pretty major ice around later in the week if not more snow.

Sounds like they are ditching the phrase 'Nailed on', they've started using 'Double sided sticky pads', I just use image.thumb.png.0714010bc45e624c9a718fbe013f68af.png

This could be quite problematic. There are industrial estates either side of the river and Woolley Bridge (A57)  is the  main route in and out of Glossop and the surrounding area. A bit further down is Glossop Recycling centre just after Glossop Brook meets the Etherow.

Alternating between Moderate - Pouring Heavy rain here in S Cheshire all morning quite a bit of surface flooding on the low lying country lanes - Crewe/ Nantwich way and haven’t seen the garden this sodden since last February’s big storm. On the fringes of the Amber Warning. May well see some wet snow tonight even this low down with if it’s as heavy as forecast some temporary accumulation of a few cm if it’s light though we’ll see only a slush fest mess. Higher ground Macclesfield upwards - Peak District & Pennines looking good though but we shall see what happens.

Last nights AN26B cargo plane was UR-CQE.  Its not logging any flights on Radar 24 but was confirmed in and out of Liverpool last night.

This plane wass not fitted with alloys so was able to sucessfully complete the return flight to where ever.

Just seen the met office warning update and mention of snow on back edge of the front.

The met office forecast for here is quite a few hours of light snow overnight. However, looking north the precipitation is fairly light now, we need some heavier stuff to allow for evaporative cooling.

As others have said any cover likely very wet and temporary as not expected to drop to freezing tonight, too much breeze about.

Can sed Wetherlam to my west and there is no sign of white on it as yet, 750m high, so those uppers have not cooled yet..mind we've dropped down to 6.7 degrees last hour so it's on the turn now..

Radar shows there could be a welcome clearing rain respite soon - and lots of greens showing up on the back edge over Ireland.

Ok... So the rain seems quite sleety now which I wasn't expecting. It hasn't got any flakes in it but it's like the very first stage of turning...
