Oh no I said I wouldn't do this to myself with a slider but now I'm radar watching. To be fair it isn't the most energetic front in the world. Another dusting would be nice though I just love to see falling snow and this winter has already provided a lot of that.

It’s not a classical slider, is my understanding. Either way just as frustrating for Lancashire.

Still -4c just put some recycling in bin and took an effort to open as frozen solid... black ice on patio and snow still 1-2cm with trees and grass covered and rock solid... darker cloud slowly moving up from sw...

I've just used a kettle full of tepid water to loosen rain gauge funnel and the gate in the fence.

Had screw top jam jar and spoon to scoop out any new unmelted snow but not needed.

So it's as we were -- cold and calm, snow lying as yesterday afternoon.    Just 2 new icicles in N window.

Min  last night minus 2.4C.   Now 1.2C

Pressure rising a tiny bit.

Looks black to SW

Fairly heavy snow now quite small flakes though because it’s not marginal. Has melted the frost but beginning to stick on bins again. -0.1°C.

Struggling to get going here. Very light snow on and off. However, anything that does fall is settling though, so we should be in business if we can get some more intense ppn.

@Chris.R The tables have turned this time then - it'll be snowing at work and I'm willing it to make the half hour journey up the road I make every day hah.

Really coming down now and it’s the very fine powdery Continental type snow because it’s below freezing. Have a dusting now. -0.2°C.

Met office graphics still not showing the front getting north of Birmingham when it’s beginning to clip the Flyde Coast
