Looking like it’s petering out now, but at least we got a covering in Barnsley which was unexpected after the fail of the Meto forecast for overnight and this morning.  Pics taken from security cameras back and front of house.

Amazing photos @congerball - it is a nice consolation to see someone in the region benefit from the huge rewards a stalling weather front can provide. I hope we all get a turn later this month 😄

Skies are finally clearing now as the last few flakes of snow drop down.

Amazing scenes - Looking at some pics online it looks like up to a foot of snow fell in places today. Does anyone have any measurements?

I'm in Bingley  in west yorks and had nothing apart from this last hour now got a covering.

It’s only North Leeds that’s done particularly well I think, very localised event. Most of Leeds saw very little to nothing.

Got to say, it was only fair other parts of our region got snowfall (11/12 hours in some parts!). Sheffield and South Yorkshire has  already had two decent snowfalls so far. Let’s hope this winter has Plenty more opportunities for us all to enjoy some snow!!

Absolutely zip here. Glad to see others got some but it could have been shared around a bit more!

Same here being poor for most low lying areas again in North and East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire marginal just doesnt cut it here because 9 times out of 10 will be on wrong side of marginal has this spell has proved. Some great pics though starting to wonder if we will ever see scenes like that again in this neck of the woods.

I'm more interested in their response to why they didn't issue any further warning. They didn't even bother all day to change the written forecast.

Cold waves hitting Europe continue to threaten growers, is there a link to climate change?

Much of Europe, not just the UK, has experienced unseasonably cold weather since the Easter Weekend. A plunge of cold arctic air brought by northerly winds early last week brought several nights of frost and even snow across large swathes of Europe, followed by another wave of cold arctic air spreads across much of Europe this week. The frosts causing damage to new growth in vineyards and orchardsa0spurred on by a late March heatwave, the vineyards of France werea0particularly badly affected.
