Yes radar has really pepped up, could be an interesting night for South Yorkshire.

Why ????

Light snow but already settling on the drive.  Could be interesting for the next couple of hours for those of in and around Barnsley.  Radar is definitely showing increasing intensity, so maybe we could still get a couple of cm out of this!

I have measured 11-12cm on the hard surfaces and 13cm on the grass. Truely magical out there with people sledging and having fun in the streets.

What's the direction of this front. Got medium snow at minute. Just a mile south/west Barnsley. How much we going to get. About 155m asl.

This is why I could never live on low ground, these localised events that you usually see on high ground make a big difference in how you view the winter overall. Living in Cookridge your always guranteed one decent snowfall every winter.

Tantalisingly close but looks set to miss Sheffield on current track, need more intensity to develop on southern edge. What’s pushing this front northwards?

Looks like the snow band is starting to weaken for most parts of north west leeds now.

Was a nice event but could never get fully excited knowing that most of the snow is melting and just up the road (200 ft)  higher is getting a pasting. A rather wet 1" here, better than nothing.

A few spots of drizzle right now fog thickening up after one the worst forecasts within 12 hours in recent years. May catch some rain later on. If the cloud clears could really nasty tomorrow morning with widespread ice.

Fair play to you @Craigers.  You called this right when this was showing next to nothing over the East coast!  In Ardsley you are a couple of miles East of me in Redbrook, so keep reporting in as anything you get I should get 10 mins later!

Hats off to the dude that called it last night about the front stalling, when the BBC etc were still saying sinking South, I desperately didn't want him to right but his nailed it, hoping for little developments across the mids this evening
