Great timing this time. Car all safely parked up and I'm not in work tomorrow as I'm part furloughed. Instead looks like a nice walk in the snow instead. Looking good for a decent event now even down to low levels

What would it take for that to be bumped to red? Do you think we will see any red next weekend?

Red warnings are rare but would be good to see one

Sounds like a bit of an inversion going on then. Temps here 1.3C up from 0.9C. Dewpoint 0C. As for warnings we had an amber alert for 7mm of rain.

Neow

Tbf to the met its only the 0z onwards that have pushed the snowline and colder 850s and dps further south but it was clear for me from the 12z a situation was developing

Shows you cant forecast snow till within 24hours even with all these super computers

Great to see amber warning now...

It's going to be a sleepless night with me checking the curtains and radar every time I wake up, which will be a lot

Aren't we crazy

It's looking like a pretty interesting start to the day that's for sure.

As it turns milder through the day, it looks like lower levels will go back to rain and lying snow will start to thaw, but at the same time higher levels are going to getting a decent dumping.

So does that mean I’m hardly gonna get any snow in pocklington York

I’m afraid for low lying eastern areas it’s another bust. The way the models are shaping up you could well be sticking 2s up at those in West and South Yorkshire with your foot of snow this time next week.

I wish but I really doubt it this winter has just been a massive disappointment here
