For you guys this has shifted tad north!! First shift short term.

Highlighted where it has moved further north. Leeds could just scrape this if further increments north happens.

Its never going to stick around much during the day at the moment as with 'only' -10c uppers the temperature will always rise to about 2c between showers. Overnight is the best bet for accumulations.

2010 and 2013 were pretty similar. You're only going to get decent coverings overnight if  it gets heavy and persistent.

Agreed! Just put exactly the same in forecasts for Yorkshire this morning. Minimal accumulations today, typically a few cm tonight.

Just been out and that wind is making it feel much colder than it really is, temp of 1'C and feels like minus 5 or more.

The odd short graupel shower in Louth this morning, but the wind is raw and has dried the place up considerably overnight.

Whatever fell today was always going to be gravy down here, our main window was always overnight tonight into Tuesday afternoon.

To add to Chez's excellent post above, UKV goes for a pepping up for the showers from about 1am tonight with the main focus across the southern half of the region. I think it is slightly underdoing the shower coverage today though when pairing up the 12pm chart with the current radar.

At least the showers are surviving inland even if not the heaviest yet.

Yeah I think a few of us, including me have been a bit jittery this morning. But I think today was always forecast to be light showers wasn't it. Main action looks from later tonight and Monday, Tuesday doesn't it.

I just need to be patient lol

Although we have had light snow on and off this morning that hasn’t  settled, the wind has done a good job of drying surfaces and keeping temperatures fairly low.

I'm more nervous about this afternoon's football.

If this cold spell has taught me anything, it's that my windows need a damned good clean.

Not going to lie, with -10c 850s I was expecting accumulations from the current showers we are getting here.  Currently 1c with a dew of -1c and nothing is sticking.

Looks like I will have to wait till after dark, lets hope there's some showers left by then!

Yes me too Andy.

At least the wind has dried the ground and starting to chill it. Hopefully temps will drop tonight and not get above freezing for the next few days

Still confident of 10cm by Wednesday?

Showers looking even lighter on the radar one little exception to that that could be heading my way. Place to be far north east of Scotland some beefy showers there.

Interestingly, that's where the FAX chart had a convergence zone modelled since this morning ❄️ Shows you what can happen with a few spicier ingredients in place!

Yes. I'll be more worried if we get to the end of Monday without more than a dusting but so far my faith in models underestimating shower activity has only been validated.

At this stage my prevailing thought is.. phew.

Yes I noticed the radar shows plenty of ppn but the reality is real-time observations nothing of note.
