We definitely won’t be getting this much precipitation next week that’s for sure...

Hmmm....

I have been wondering if the 18 inches in 1991 here was from a streamer, front or a heavy shower.

The more i look at it the more it feels like 2010. South Yorkshire North Derbyshire 30-40cm in my opinion!

15-30 further north but still time for the streamer to move further north or south and for troughs to show up last mibute.

The 12zecm keeps us massively in the freezer from today to the following saturday with more of the run to come

Not sure I’m afraid. Was only 3 in Feb 1991 so don’t remember it.

Yeh well the warning system is pretty poor and has been for years. It has improved a little as in the past normally the bad weather had passed by the time they got the warning out. Only 16.2mm here since midnight.

Going to be a very frustrating week for us in West Yorkshire I think. Might need to stay away from this forum for a while!

Lol. I think we'll do fine. But looks like South Yorkshire will be the sweet spot. Radar watching is going to be interesting.....a few miles movement here and there is all it takes....

Really?! Brilliant! Must be because you're under a heavier bit at the moment. Keep us posted.

Yeah bit shocked really. It's back to sleet now, must have been that heavy blob!

I’m a miserable sod but I’m going to say Leeds will have no more than 2-3cm by Thursday. Just can’t see showers being frequent or heavy enough here to get much more.

If its now snowing in Hull this bodes very well for rest of our region, it won't be marginal in a few hours here in West of region for sure.

Still icy rain in Shafton, quite a lot of flooding around the next village of South Heindley, took these out running at 4pm.

I'm in the mindset of ''if it can happen in any region, it'll happen here eventually''. Snow watching is the winter equivalent of storm watching. This is still just as important:

Cold air still hasn't arrived here. Now the rains stopped we've gone back up to 1.8c from 1.5c

Dew point still high

Still rain here in Bev, but the temp has plummeted with those showers, now down to 1.8°C with a DP of 1.6°C. Looking good for later, really good.

STET: a few flakes appearing now :-)
