We had one here too you know. It's just wind from the wsw are sheltered a bit for the area Langdon bay. Why winds from the south and south west register higher. There are cliffs in the line for a wsw. It was a wild and loud night here, with things banging about everywhere.

Must be a wind direction thing here then as most of the WSW or SW Gales that get named by the Meto I literally hear nothing and damage looks minimal to zero around here, other directions we seem to get battered a lot more. Was tempted to head to the Seafront in the early hours but Tides were low at maximum inpact times between 02-06z - Glad I never got up lol

Was wild here last night, haven't heard anything like that for a while.

A wsw over Dover has to travel over cliffs between here and Folkestone. However I live in a wind tunnel, it was a loud house shaking night here.

Hey mate! How close are you to the coast? Know Saltdean very very well. Was wild here in Higher Bevendean...but think tiles are still in place.

Hi lsf, just at the top backing onto Downs, if you look North from the Lido we are at the back on the hill.

So some elevation too, quite exposed..suits me down to the ground!

Thankyou Storm Bella!  She dropped a good couple of inches of snow on us as the core went past overnight ☃⛄
