Good to see some areas getting a bit of a top up today - while this was sort of on the radar (to pardon the pun, especially given the amount of false echoes I saw nearby to start with) it wasn't reall

Apologies on my last post I said 400m up the hill it should have been more like 250m. (Big difference) My memory ain’t what it used to be. Still makes  a difference. Whitelee in the distance.1F49CC23-EE09-4FB1-9250-8F72FFDE3AF6.thumb.jpeg.fcfa7f5a826365979de0194ed7077a03.jpeg

Never ceases to amaze me the different perspectives you can see Whitelee from. There’s much of the South side of Glasgow, even the city centre. But I saw it from Mugdock the other week. Pretty sure you could see it from the Campsies on a clear day, possibly Goat fell too?

Here is my Snow Watch for the next couple of Days from Twitter. Lots of uncertainty for US in Scotland as there could be a few wee surprises tomorrow afternoon and night.

Fab pictures everyone...its good to see how much joy a bit of the white stuff brings.

The temperature has been all over the place this evening...after a quick freeze it then started to thaw a bit and topped out at +2.3deg/C dropped back to +0.8deg/C and is now fluctuating up and down, there is a bit of cloud cover which is causing this but I'd never have thought it could change so rapidly.

The Beeb weather is showing a low of -4deg/C for around here it'll be interesting to see how low it gets.

Compared to the gorgeous photos posted today from elsewhere in Scotland, here it was a very uninspiring affair with the return of Permagloom™.

Cool and grey with occasional showers of rain.  Sun hinted at its presence with a few brighter periods.

Max of 4.1c and even now its still above freezing.

Ground really was deep frozen thanks to the previous days frosts, much to my surprise.  Ground conditions utterly lethal with black ice everywhere - I suspect A&E were handling quite a few broken bones today (not that they need any extra work at the moment).

Had to laugh at the Met Office forecast just now, a miracle, snow from cloudless skies!

Currently 1.1c but feels colder, DP -0.3c and thin cloud cover. Only place I’ll be going on Wednesday is the supermarket for a food shop, not taking any chances with my broken shoulder, knowing how accident prone I am!

My moon shot isn’t so great as @JamesM

Morning all, clear and frosty with the temperature bang on 0c here in Pittenweem.

Tomorrow looks interesting for many of us. I may even see my first falling snow of the winter 😊 before it turns to rain! Looks like other (sea level) east coasters may see a snow to rain scenario as milder air is drawn in off the North Sea. Wet bulb freezing level snapshot shows this. Looks better farther west with less chance of the milder air making inroads. I’m sure the more knowledgeable posters on here will have a sounder take on things...but an interesting Hogmanay ahead!
