A small area of rain went through here and the wind direction turned on a sixpence! Quite a gusty wind blowing in through the window now.

Strong wind from a N’ly direction tonight... calm on this side of the house though, barely a breeze coming through the bedroom window. 5.5°C

We were right at the centre of the low yesterday and all the rain bands missed us.  After one shower around half nine, it was a grey, drizzly day.  Overnight, as the rain band slipped away to the south, there was no rain at all.  Total for the 24hours to 09.00 today was 4.7mm.  Total for December so far is 116.6mm, taking the annual total to just over 1000mm.

Sunny today and much colder.

I have been keeping an eye on the MSLP charts over the past few days.. from circa 9am Saturday to 9am Sunday could see a pressure drop of over 40mb.

Hmm along with high winds the coastal areas are in for high levels of sea water in certain places. Hopefully the beachcams stay up, so we can get a decent view, of course that's before venturing out in it!

Amber warning out now. That doesn't surprise me! The winds are forecast to be the strongest of the year.

We're planning on heading to Southbourne on Boxing Day anyway. Looks like it could be a bit tasty down there.

Just witnessed the first snow symbol of the season on my local Points West forecast, for Monday.

Shouldn't remain too long though.

Cloud rolled in earlier, however seems to have cleared a fair bit now, looking chilly tonight, currently 4.8°C which of course could well drop once the sun dips over the horizon in about 30mins. But it "feels" like Christmas, dry and cold, definitely a traditional affair, forget the white stuff as we so seldom had it here, it's clear about the cold and dry making it feel more festive..nice don't even need the white stuff to feel seasonal..

Right back to wrapping pressies!

Merry Christmas everyone.

I've asked Santa for a repeat of this, any time over the 12 days of Christmas will do

A clear evening means a great opportunity tonight on planet watching...

Firstly we have Jupiter & Saturn passed the conjunction but who cares

And second we have Mars and the moon looking cool tonight...

Hopefully everyone enjoys it and let's all hope for some snowfall in the next couple of weeks!

'Tis nippy out there with the breeze. 1.8°C with a frosty shed roof.

I really hope we get some snow at some point in January. I would really love to send the drone up in the air to get perspective looking down on all the surrounding area.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas all, considering how cold it's going to be tonight I was surprised to find a hedgehog in the feeding station at 11pm! Quite a large hog so it should survive hibernation. Think that might be the last time I see him/her for a while if what the weather models have been showing becomes reality.
